Independent SEO advisory for complex systems

My work focuses on enterprise SEO at the point where execution stops being the problem — and system design becomes the constraint.

About me

My name is Olya Ianovskaia.
I work with leadership teams at large marketplaces and content platforms to make enterprise SEO coherent, controllable, and durable as systems scale.

My background includes in-house SEO leadership and senior advisory work across global platforms. I focus on diagnosing structural SEO constraints, rather than optimizing individual pages or chasing tactics.

I am a regular contributor to Search Engine Land, and you can learn more about me via LinkedIn.

How my work differs from traditional SEO consulting

Most SEO consulting engagements focus on execution: audits, roadmaps, tooling, delivery.
Those approaches assume the system itself is sound.

My work starts earlier.

I focus on determining whether the system can support growth at all — and what kind of structural change would be required if it cannot.

I focus on determining:

  • Whether the system can support growth at all

  • Where incentives or structure are working against organic performance

  • What kind of change is actually required

This is why the work is time-bounded, independent, and advisory by design.

What I don’t do
  • Ongoing execution or delivery engagements

  • Tactical SEO checklists

  • Page-level optimization

  • Compete with internal teams or agencies

My role is to provide clarity, so teams can execute effectively.

I’ve worked across marketplaces, content-heavy platforms, and multi-surface products where SEO outcomes are shaped by governance, incentives, and platform decisions — not isolated tactics.

This perspective informs both my advisory work and my writing.

Experience across complex, multi-surface platforms
